Andrew's Pitchfork Definition

The andrew's pitchfork was developed by Dr. Alan Andrews and is a technical indicator comprised of three trend lines. These three trend lines are extended parallel to each other, thus the formation of a pitchfork.

ADX Definition

The ADX (Average Directional Index) is a creation from technical analysis legend J. Welles Wilder. The ADX is a lagging indicator used to assess the strength of a trend.

Advance Decline Ratio Definition

The advance/decline ratio (A/D ratio) shows the ratio of advancing issues to declining issues. The A/D ratio is similar to the advance/decline line, except instead of subtracting the advancing and declining issues, it divides these two inputs.

Absolute Breadth Index Definition

The absolute breadth index (ABI) measures the amount of volatility on the New York Stock exchange.

Bollinger Band Indicator

Bollinger bands are a very powerful technical indicator.  Some traders will swear that solely trading bollinger bands is the key to their winning systems.  Bollinger bands are drawn within and surrounding the price structure of a stock. It provides relative boundaries of highs and lows.
