2008 Holiday Trading Schedule

While holidays are a great time to spend with family and friends, it is an awful time for active trading. Day traders will often experience markets that are flat with light volume. This lack of activity causes a number of false breakouts and choppy conditions. From one experienced trader to another, take the time off.

Below is the 2008 holiday trading schedule:

January 1 - New Year's Day

January 21 - Martin Luther King Jr.

February 18 - President's Day

March 21 - Good Friday

May 26 - Memorial Day

July 4 - Independence Day

September 1 - Labor Day

November 27 - Thanksgiving Day

December 25 - Christmas Day
