- 1st Wave extension occurs when the first wave is the longest wave in an impulse move
- Wave-5 must be the shortest of the three thrust waves
- Wave-1 must be 161.8% of wave-5
- The resulting pattern of a wave-1 extension will resemble an ascending wedge shape
