Breakdown of the Forex Trading Day

The speaker discusses the different trading hours for the different currencies.  At the start of trading on Sunday, the Asian trading session begins and this session is the least active of the three 8 hour sessions throughout the day.  European trading begins at 2am EST and handles 32% of all forex transactions.  Finally, the US trading session begins at 8am and handles about 19% of the trading volume.  8am to 12pm is the most active trading period of the day when both the US and European markets are open.  Additionally, it is during this timeframe when most of the market moving economic news is released.
