Opportunities in a Down Market for REITs

The speaker talk about the opportunity to profit off of the sharp decline in the REIT market.  He goes on to cite a few REIT, or real estate investment trust, opportunities that look like good investments.  One of the authors cited in this video believes that downturns in the REIT market last nearly 3 years; he then goes on to suggest that the bull markets following can last up to 7 years. 

The second author, who is from Zacks Equity Research, suggested two "good buys" in the REIT sector;  REG and EQR.  He is neutral on the REIT sector but believes that they are trading at a discount to NAV.
