How to read stock charts

Video:

The speaker covers some profitable chart patterns.  He first talks about the reliability of symmetrical triangles and how one can make profits on an upward or downward breakout.  Volume should be monitored closely and it should pick up when the price starts to break out through the triangle.  He talks about entry criteria and also how to set a price to take profits.

He then moves on to ascending and descending triangles.  Again, he discusses how to calculate the target price of a breakout from this pattern.

The head and shoulders pattern has a large peak with two troughs on the side and is favored by short sellers.  He covers the psychological factors that created the three humps in this pattern.  He discusses when to take this trade and how to determine a target.

The double top setup should be shorted when the price breaks below the support between the two highs.  He discusses entry and exit levels.

He then covers double bottomstriple bottoms, and triple tops.  With each of these patterns, he discusses entry criteria and how to determine targets.
